Ballroom Dance

A World of Ostrich Feathers and Graceful Athleticism

I’m the only person my own age whom I’ve met who is a devotee of ballroom dance. Ballroom dancing is in my blood: my maternal grandparents are avid dancers and taught ballroom dance for many years. I answered my calling to ballroom dance at the age of 14 and began competing at 15. I’ve competed locally and nationally and have won awards in the Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quick Step, Tango, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive. Since my first competition in Los Angeles welcomed me into the world of Ballroom, it has been a constant factor in my life since. This creative and beautiful world, as chaotic as it is, has become my welcome escape and enduring passion. I believe my involvement reveals my willingness to pursue interests which are not necessarily conventional, my capacity to become intensively involved, my proficiency in my areas of special interest, and my aptitude for fun!
